The President of Tanzania Calls on African Countries to Increase Domestic Investment in Health

According to an official statement, Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan encouraged African nations to increase domestic investment in the health care sector in order to form strong, environmentally friendly and independent healthcare systems.

 

According to a statement released by the Directorate of Presidential Communications, made the request while speaking at a special health meeting of African Union heads of state and government in Accra, Ghana.

 

According to Hassan, Tanzania has already included the African Union Health Strategy 2030 its new Five-Year Development Plan, emphasizing the production of pharmaceuticals, fortifying healthcare systems and boosting national self-sufficiency.

 

"Africa has the expertise, manpower and ability to revolutionize its healthcare systems. Strong political will, domestic investment and continental solidarity are what we need right now,” she stated.

 

The World Health Organization's Development Level 3 has been reached by the Tanzania Medicines and Medical Devices Authority, according to the announcement, increasing the likelihood of producing high-quality medications locally.

 

Hassan claims that the total number of healthcare delivery venues from roughly 10,000 to 13,700 by building 119 district-level hospitals, 649 health care centers and more than 2,700 dispensaries.

 

The percentage of deliveries medical facilities grew from 65% to 86%, she claimed, as a result of the advancements in access to expert health care services.
